Collaborating with Pera Museum to Create a Collection Inspired by Marcel Dzama
For the Marcel Dzama "Dance with Moonlight" exhibition at Pera Museum, Common Muse was invited to design a dedicated collection. The museum wanted products that reflected Dzama’s distinctive style—his surreal, theatrical imagery featuring masked figures and human-animal hybrids—while creating original designs made specifically for the exhibition.
We worked closely with the museum’s curatorial team to understand the themes and artistic direction. Our process involved studying Dzama’s techniques and motifs, then developing design prototypes that captured his visual language without directly copying his work.
Through several review cycles with the museum, we refined the collection to ensure it complemented the exhibition’s atmosphere and offered visitors meaningful keepsakes. The resulting products, exclusive to Pera Museum, translate Dzama’s art into wearable and usable items that extend the exhibition experience.
This project highlights a clear collaboration between Common Muse and Pera Museum to create a collection aligned with the exhibition’s vision while maintaining originality in design and production.
